Excerpt from the review in the Klang+Ton 3/2008:
... "What's coming out of the Tang Band is certainly real bass, even in our listening room - some of you will know it - that shows quite some volume and needs to be flooded with low frequencies. Sure, there would be a difference if a large speaker was playing right next to the Cheap Trick, but on its own our contestant pushes quite a bit of air. What we didn't like was a certain sharpness in the high frequencies which are manifested by sibilants at s or z sounds. We didn't want to jump to conclusions by blaming the spike at 8 kHz in the frequency response. Therefore, we decided to let the speakers run in for another weekend with a lively CD on repeat. Our next listening session showed dramatically changed picture: the sound was now somewhat darker and after a few minutes it seemed that there was no reason for different sounding speakers. The listener is just captivated by the speaker's strength - the effortless three-dimensionality, the attention to detail and liveliness. Where other speakers put up a stage behind and in-between the speakers the Cheap Trick places the stage around the listener, involving him or her in the musical events. On top of it this amazing three-dimensionality was not just an image but was rather lively due to the considerable dynamic abilities of the Cheap trick. The slightly uneven frequency response curve and forgotten exactly then when the listener experiences the devotion and attention to vocals for the first time. Even minute details like breathing are within reach. The high frequencies are little more subtle, but still solid and enormously detailed. In short: our new Cheap Trick sounds marvellously and I can imagine that quite a few music lovers just don't need more speaker."
