Do you prefer slightly more bass than the one coming with Langrange - or do you want a speaker to be somewhat bigger? In this case we recommend the Alcone Laplace. Sized 90 x 24 x 33 cm (HxWxD), this model is made of the same top notch components as the Lagrange. Besides damping fleece (on the left as a mat) we supply the drivers, high quality MKP Audyn or similar capacitors, large coils where they are needed, metal-oxide resistors as well as terminals, flared bass reflex tubes and screws. This is what Klang+Ton, Europe's biggest loudspeaker DIY magazine has got to say in issue 2/99:
"Lagrange, Laplace or Fourier - these three 2 way speakers by Alcone Acoustics cannot deny that they are from the same stable. All have pretty similar sound characteristics, the same distinct timbre and the same incredibly low bass. For those who have trouble in choosing the model that fits the bill, have a go at the Laplace. Dynamics are almost as impressive as with Fourier, however, at a considerably smaller cabinet size. Langrange is even smaller, but has problems in keeping up with two bigger ones regarding dynamics, a speaker for smaller rooms."
