The NoFerro 800 TV belongs to the group of ferro fluid free drivers with magnetic shielding. Due to its size the resonance with 800 Hz is quite low. The diaphragm made of coated silk is centred in the air gap by a surround made of polymer.
The D'Appo 4 belongs to the same series of speakers.
Review by Udo Wohlgemuth in ADM 5/2006: "The Micro 2006 was placed close to the rear wall and connected to a SAC system, consisting of Epsilon-VV, La Forza mono blocks and a tuned Teac CD Player. The sound reproduction was really good. It was quite impressive how the Micro's high frequency range resolved Berlioz's "Symphony Fantastique"; played exclusively by percussionists. Equally impressive was the precision in handling extreme signal peaks down to the upper bass range, something that I hadn't expected. Annoying was just the closeness of the rear wall, as if the restriction to the eye also limited the depth of the sound stage. Therefore, I placed the speakers on stands and positioned them away from the rear wall. This changed the sound characteristics completely. In this position I listened to Deborah Henson-Conant playing "Baroque Flamenco" on her harp. The instrument was surprisingly big, which I hadn't expected from these small boxes. The enthusiasm in Deborah's voice when she asked "Dance with me" invited me spontaneously to stamp my foot. At this moment it became evident that the Micro 2006, despite the low efficiency, wasn't just good for analysing sound material. It was time for a valve amp! The impedance correction was assembled quite quickly using 33 µF, 0.39 mH and 6.8 Ohm. Ray Charles' "Fever" wasn't reproduced by small speakers anymore, the acoustic bass reached almost its original size. The small diaphragm certainly contributed to this crystal clear sound. Little mass results in quick outwards and inwards movements. The sympathetically warm sounding Micro obviously reached her limitations at higher volumes. Though Deep Purple's "Child in time" was reproduced without any tonal flaws, but the volume was just not enough to rock."
