Review in Hobby HiFi: "In our editorial listening room the MTL 138 set a pace that took the jury's breath away: such an élan nobody had expected from this rather slim and low-priced design. Marla Glen's "The Cost Of Freedom" was reproduced with almost excessive verve, projected a rich and unbelievably low bass into the room and moulded the vocals realistically and authentically. Impressive was also the three-dimensionality. "Limehouse Blues", to be found on Proprius' "Jazz at the Pawnshop", revealed a meticulous staggering of instruments, with clearly differentiated width and depth and lots of air in between. Even at low volumes this speaker resolves the finest details effortlessly and allows us to listen to music in a relaxed way without having the constant urge to raise the level. But then, this transmission line speaker is relaxed even at higher volumes. The MTL fills even larger rooms with ease, while obviously speakers with a considerably larger piston radiating area have the advantage." ...
Unlike the Hobby HiFi version, we have added a MKP capacitor in the signal path to the tweeter. The sound improves considerably and the additional cost is negligible.
Note: Only with black tweeter available.
