Visaton Zyklop is designed by Sebastian Beyer of Visaton. It contains a fullrange speaker Visaton B80 and a subwoofer Visaton TIW 200 XS.
"In our listening room we placed the Cyclops on 60 cm high Apollo stands, filled with sand and steel-shot, their heavy-weight formed an acoustically perfect foundation. When angled facing towards the listening position they gave the best impression. It was obvious: the full range drivers beam frequencies above 5000Hz so much that off the main axis the higher frequencies are at a disadvantage. Their apperance in the listening room stunned the audience from the first moment. The Cyclops scored points with their near perfect tonal balance. They offer tight, punchy and clear bass that is considerably deep. The midrange fascinates with its natural tonal colour. Vocals in every range sound authentic and life-like. The treble sounds round and fine, like you get from good dome tweeters. The full range drivers create wonderfully fine rendered detail. Spatial imaging impresses with an exceptionally broad spread image in combination with credible depth. Like with symmetrical MTM configurations such as a D 'Appolito, the image is focussed relatively far forward, but without compromising on a respectable image depth. The Cyclops stay amazingly stable even at higher sound levels. This was demonstrated with Charly Antolini, we could start with his drums at full force and were experiencing realistic flow. The drum-head of the bass drum was taut, and the big drum thrilled us with an implusive force. On a more calm note, Renaud Garcia-Fons' five-string double bass stood impressively full in the room, sounding tight and powerful."

The kit with high-end crossover contains ClarityCap PWA capacitors in the filter for the fullrange loudspeaker. In addition Mundorf baked varnish coils are used.

If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
