Albatros is a small floorstander. It is developed by Thomas Schmidt and Holger Barske as bass reflex system.
Albatros contains a Harwood air motion transformer (tweeter) and a Harwood mid-woofer.
The crossover consists of a 2nd order high-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) and a 3rd order low-pass filter.
The frequency response is quite flat at an angle of 15 to 30 degree, the harmonic distortion is low (less than 0.4% above 300Hz at 85 dB (1m)). The decay spectrum shows a small resonance at 400 Hz; apart from that it is without any fault.

If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
