Bernd Timmermanns of journal Hobby HiFi presents Big Block. The kit consists of an Audaphon AMT 1i air motion transformer, certified by Hobby HiFi as a unit at reference level and a woofer Wavecor SW223BD01.

A Wavecor PR223BD01 passive radiator can be seen below the woofer; with his help the floorstander reaches 23 Hz (-3 dB).
 

The crossover consists of second-order filters.

The frequency response of the speaker-system is perfectly flat. The decay spectrum is without any fault. The most noteworthy fact is that the non-linear distortions remain very small.

Impedance correction
 If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
