Orkla is a three way floorstanding speaker.
Orkla is a bass-reflex cabinet loudspeaker with drivers of SB Acoustics, Seas and Alcone.
The kit is delivered with the following drivers: - a beryllium tweeter SB Acoustics SATORI-TW29B - a Seas Excel W18EX001 mids driver - an Alcone AC10 HE woofer
The loudspeaker has been developed by Dennis Frank and Daniel Gattig.
The crossover consists of: - a 2nd order high-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) for the tweeter. - a band pass consisting of a 2nd order high pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) and a 3rd order low-pass filter (18 dB per octave slope) for the mids-woofer. - a 2nd order low-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) for the woofer.
The frequency response of this speaker is perfectly linear.
The decay spectrum as shown in the waterfall diagram is exemplary, free of any disturbing resonance.
At low volume, i.e. 85 dB at 1 m, the nonlinear distortions are below 0.2% above 500 Hz (that's perfect!) and doesn't exceed 0.5% at 95 dB at 1 m between 300 and 15000 Hz.
"The Orkla builds its merits on the already very high quality of its sister model Otra: If this box already impressed with a breathtaking and dynamic appearance, the Orkla will do at least as well and even a little better. I really don't want to claim that I can hear the 40 kilohertz that the beryllium dome reaches, but I have the very definite impression that the rigid cones and somes of the exquisite drivers provide a little more clarity, depth and precision. From the full-fledged subwoofer qualities in the deep bass area to the finest details in the highs, everything is there, without masking effects and no preferred areas over the whole frequency range. There is one small restraint: the Orkla is not a box for small rooms - it needs a little space around the side basses. But from 25 square meters I can't imagine any better full-range loudspeaker for music in all styles."
"Excellent and perfectly developed floorstanding loudspeaker."

Kit without cabinet, price per speaker EUR 1154,00 excl. VAT: € 969.75 / $ 1057.03
The high-end kit is delivered with baked varnish air core coils on important parts of the crossover for minimizing microphonic effects. - The current flow through the coil creates a magnetic field which sets the reel of wire in motion. This motion induces a voltage in the coil which adds itself to the signal. The stiffer the reel of wire is, the less the signal will be altered. The capacitors for the SB Acoustics SATORI-TW29B are of type polypropylen (MKP) Clarity-Cap CSA and ESA 250 V.
Kit with high-end-crossover without cabinet, price per speaker EUR 1245,00 excl. VAT: € 1046.22 / $ 1140.38
If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
Price per impedance correction for one speaker, to be mounted on a small wooden board. EUR 15,20 excl. VAT: € 12.77 / $ 13.92
If you prefer to mount the crossover components on a universal PCB instead on wood PCB 220x155 mm, order no. I-8805002, price per unit: EUR 11,80 excl. VAT: € 9.92 / $ 10.81 We recommend one board per kit (2 boards per speaker pair)
