The Schwarzweiss is a more than 2 metres tall, but extremely flat 3 way loudspeaker. In medium to large rooms this speaker looks quite elegant.

Excerpt of the review by Klang+Ton 5/2007:
... "One notices immediately that the bass driver produces the bass with a sealed cabinet, especially when bass guitar and drums are being played. The sound is clean, dry and tight as it can only be produced by a sealed cabinet. The excursion of the bass driver and the large piston area guarantee a quite a bit of oomph in the bass department. Only when the Schwarzweiss is tortured with extreme low bass then there won't be much happening. It somehow reminds of a low bass simulation with an extremely low tuned bass reflex. But this type of bass cannot be as precise. Midrange and high frequencies are the perfect match for the SLS 12. The midrange pleases with precise reproduction and excellent imaging and forms an integrated whole with the tweeter. Despite a certain reluctance in volume the midrange is always open and vibrant but never jumps at the listener. The also reserved tweeter shows similar characteristics. Especially sibilants are reproduced in a clean and controlled way, critical female vocals are a treat. In all, the sound is well balanced with a full but always controlled bass. This is an all round speaker inviting to relaxed listening sessions. " ...

Schwarzweiss with high end crossover

In the high end crossover kit the following components were exchanged:
- MKP capacitor instead of 47 μF ELCO, non etched
- Clarity CAP ESA instead of 3.3 μF capacitor
- Mundorf cfc16 coil instead of 0.47 mH / 1.4 mm air core coil
- Mundorf baked varnish coil with 1 mm instead of 0.27 mH / 1 mm
