Versacube is system kit that is based on the subwoofer cubes Versacube in Klang+Ton 6/2006. . You need for the speaker - pictured on the left – 4 subwoofer cubes Versacube and a coax cube.
The centre cube is the coax cube and is equipped with a Monacor img SP-30 PAX, producing with crossover a rated SPL of 96 dB (2.83V, 1m). 4 sealed cabinet bass cubes are just right for low bass.
Excerpt of the review in Klang+Ton 3/2007: "Just for fun we used the Coax initially on its own to find out about how well the speaker performs. Apart from the lack of bass the coax performs extremely well. Especially, the effortless and wiry speed displayed by this type of driver is just stunning. Vocals were reproduced clearly and without any coloration and the spatial placement of soloists and accompanying musicians was outstanding. Regarding placement of the speaker it became clear quite quickly that to position them parallel to the side wall was the "right" choice, and the reservation relating to dropping sound pressure level as stated in the lab results could be safely disregarded. Depending on room conditions and sound reflection the high frequencies could be reduced even more. In our well deadened listening room the horn driver supported the midrange performance with a lot of detailed and sparkling tops that were never inappropriate or irritating. Well, after this successful solo performance the whole team had to be engaged. Altogether eight Versacube bass cubes were wired up to 2 Hypex 4.0 subwoofer modules, two pairs at a time in series and then connected in parallel to the subwoofer terminals. Adapting the subwoofers to the midrange / high frequency cube wasn't that easy; after some trial and error all 10 Versacubes played as an integrated team. The power of the Hypex module and radiating area of the Mivoc drivers formed an ideal supplement for the extremely loud SP-30PAX. Sure, there are speakers with a better balance, but there aren't that many speaker giving as much pleasure as this Coax-Versacube tower. Sure, this precisely performing combination also scores points when small combo music is being played, but the real forte is rock with all the dynamics that comes with it. And thanks to the extremely high efficiency not a lot of power is needed, just the subwoofer modules have to work hard."
